We searched in celebration of their lives. From talent in the studio, to the stadium and behind the decks, we searched for the magic our heroes left behind.
We are what we search. From greens to sweet treats, we revealed a little bit about ourselves through the food on our minds.
Just one of the quirky and wonderful questions we asked this year. Which stripey maneater got us searching as it stalked the French capital on a cold day in November?
We made ice, and then we made a difference. It's not what you wear, it's how you wear it. We saw how one man's effortless confidence made it cool to stand out.
Who wanted to look their best, boys or girls? It doesn't matter who you're with or where you come from—a kiss is a kiss. The film critically questions the economic need for private property , money , and the inherent inequality between agents in the system.
Also seen critically is the need for cyclical consumption in order to maintain market share , resulting in wasted resources and planned obsolescence.
According to the movie, the current monetary system will result in default or hyperinflation at some future time. As with Zeitgeist: Addendum , the film presents a "resource-based economy" as advocated by Jacque Fresco discussing how human civilization could start from a new beginning in relation to resource types, locations, quantities, to satisfy human demands; track the consumption and depletion of resources to regulate human demands and maintain the condition of the environment.
The current worldwide situation is described as disastrous. A case is presented that pollution , deforestation , climate change , overpopulation , and warfare are all created and perpetuated by the socioeconomic system.
Various poverty statistics are shown that suggest a progressive worsening of world culture. The final scene of the film shows a partial view of earth from space, followed by a sequence of superimposed statements; "This is your world", "This is our world", and "The revolution is now".
Zeitgeist: Moving Forward received "Best Political Documentary" in from the Action on Film International Film Festival.
A The Socialist Standard review said the film's use of animation and humour gave it a "well rounded feel", though it criticized the "shaky economic analysis" in the second part of the film, saying " Karl Marx had already undertaken a more scientific analysis", adding, "the analysis is at least on the right track".
Regarding transition to the new system proposed in the film, the reviewer noted "there is no mention of how to get from here to there". In an article, in Tablet magazine, Michelle Goldberg described the film as "silly enough that at times [she] suspected it was [a] sly satire about new-age techno- utopianism instead of an example of it".
Zeitgeist: The Movie started the chain of events leading to the formation of the Zeitgeist movement. VC Reporter's Shane Cohn summarized the movement's charter as: "Our greatest social problems are the direct results of our economic system".

Alzheimer's and other dementia's seem to occur more and more often. It is such a debilitating disease in so many ways. Memory loss, mood swings, forgetfulness are welcomed in comparison to what lay ahead.
As the disease progresses loss of motor skills, rage and hallucinations are possible. The ability to use a remote control or telephone are foreign.
Finally comes the crippling loss of all function and ultimate death from not being able to eat or control your lungs. My dad had early onset and this is how he died.
His father died in March of Alzheimer's but thankfully it never reached that part. Both my grandmother's now have it. One of the biggest issues that the disease destroys not only the person being affected but those around.
Ultimately these people need so much care. I put my life on hold and my mom has as well to deal with this stuff. My mom has effectively been taking care of Alzheimer's patient for the last 6 years.
I don't even know how she is functioning. It only gets worse. First and foremost you need to remember that it is not your fault nor his.
When the brain clicks off the person has no control of it. Its shitty but remember in the grand scheme of things, it does not matter if you aren't a 'good person' or are 'impatient' I was you have two choices, either face it head on or run.
This disease can destroy you but in the end, if you are healthy you are in a far better place! My only experience with Alzheimer's was at a relative's funeral.
My great Aunt has Alzheimer's and it goes beyond not remembering who she talked to already or what happened yesterday. Every couple minutes she just starts talking to people as though she hadn't seen them in years and would get excited to see them, often in the middle of some part of the funeral.
Each time she'd have to ask where she was and re-experience the news that somebody died over and over again. At the actual burial while everyone is crying and the priest is speaking his part she would continually blurt out "oh how are you!
My great uncle, her husband, said he may as well be living alone because he honestly cant talk to her as at the end of a sentence she won't know what the beginning of the sentence was about.
But yeah, compare that to not knowing what year some celebrity got married or when Halle Berry won an Oscar.
Couldn't agree more with you.. Having lost a close family member to Alzheimer's, this video doesn't even come close to touching on how bad this disease really is.
People automatically assume that it's all about simple memory loss when in reality it's someone forgetting the basic functions of survival.
It's a terrible thing to watch someone go through this. I don't think the people arguing against this understand Alzheimers as well as they think they do.
It's so much more than memory loss. Once they start getting to the later stages they lose everything. They don't know where they are or how they got there.
They can't make complete sentences or make simple deductions. They lose inhibition so they start saying inappropriate things or being aggressive. They're reduced to only their most primitive functions, and their families have to watch.
And for a time they're still sane enough to realize what's happening to them. That's the worst part.
I've grown up with family members dying from Alzheimer's for the majority of my life. I've lost 3 so far, and in a matter of years my mother will get it and in the future, the rest of her offspring and I will get it.
You're right and your post is exactly what I was going to post. I get what this video is trying to do, but it's not portraying the disease correctly.
Having Alzheimer's is not just thinking about something and getting it wrong or not being able to remember; it's a sad and scary thing.
Everyone of my family members that has had it became a shell of who they once were. They were all brilliant, creative, and charismatic people.
What is left of them is their bodies and basic motor functions until the near end. They woke up confused, scared, and then angry every day because they had no idea what was going on or who the closest people around them were.
It's tragic growing up in childhood, adolescence, and young adulthood, seeing the most witty people you've ever met being unable to connect with you.
Sure occasionally, part of their personality they've ingrained in themselves still exists. As an example, my mother's mother, my grandmother, always was irritated by how forward and loving my father is.
She always got uncomfortable by him. When my grandmother became a vegetable and we would go to visit, my father came up to her and hugged her and kissed her, as if nothing was wrong with her.
She immediately got disgusted and said something very witty to get him away. Justin Gage aquadrunkard Aquarium Drunkard. Speeding on the autobahn:. Because it feels like the perfect high speed driving album.

Something about the cyclical warble of vocals and piano keys works together to generate a self-induced hypnotic state. After listening to the 8 minute title track I no longer know who I am or what I'm doing with my life.
In short, it's potent and dizzying - highly effective for zoning out and reaching altered states of consciousness. Probably also good for naps.
